Environmental Statement

A2Z IT Limited is a small, largely remote business and we intend to keep our environmental impact in proportion. This statement sets out the practical things we do, rather than ambitions we cannot evidence.

How we work

• Cloud first. We run our own services and most client workloads in Microsoft's cloud rather than on customer-site servers. Microsoft has committed to being carbon negative by 2030 and a shared data centre runs far more efficiently than a server humming away in an office.
• Remote by default. Most support is delivered remotely, which keeps travel to the visits that genuinely need to happen.
• Right-sized IT. We recommend the licences and hardware clients actually need. The greenest kit is the kit you didn't have to buy.
• Longer hardware life. We favour business-grade hardware that lasts and where it fits the client we suggest quality refurbished equipment.
• Responsible disposal. End-of-life equipment we handle is disposed of through WEEE-compliant channels, with storage securely wiped first.
